Illiana and Erik set to get married this June 2015 and decided to take me on a journey throughout Palos Verdes for their engagement session. Illiana, another ex Torrance Macaroni Grill co-worker, and her fiance Erik met at work too! In fact, I believe they actually became official boyfriend and girlfriend at our wedding-…awesome right? It was meant to be!
So back to the engagement session- this was seriously a photographers dream- well at least for me anyway. The shoot included an amazing red chevy blazer, fields of wild flowers, cool hats and sunglasses and obviously a couple who cannot get enough of one another. I love being around other people that are in love! I actually brought my hubby to enjoy the day with us too! He was pretty excited about the Portugese Bend Private Beach Club at the end of the trip so I let him join plus he worked at Macaroni Grill too so why not make it a mini reunion- sorry Erik if you felt left out haha. However, he did get to drive the blazer around the coast so I think he enjoyed that maybe a little too much…Igor didn’t mind riding in it either.
Our day ended at their house where we BBQ’d some amazing ribs paired with some vino. What a treat to take this beautiful couple’s photographs and generally enjoy Sunday- so much that I would definitely call our day “Sunday Funday”.
The day started out kinda grey but my eyes perked up when I saw this AMAZING field of wildflowers on the way to our first location- we definitely had to stop! They only come around for a few weeks every year, especially with the super dry weather lately. I passed by this same field two weeks later and it was completely brown…
We made a stop along the cliffs on the way to the beach club and changed outfits and got some pretty cool shots of these two enjoying the car. And yes- these two are cracking up at my husband doing his little dance on the side of road.
We ended the trip of the coast at Portugese Bend where were promptly served beers by the host and Croatian Cevapcici– never tried it? Simply amazing, usually a combo of pork, lamb and beef. I think Aroma Cafe in Santa Monica is where Igor’s family gets them OMG!! So yummy…
One last photo for the super spiffy day that we had…looking forward to your wedding you two!!
