Lake Tahoe Elopement | Emily & John

eagle rock elopement couple holding hands

I am just in love with this Lake Tahoe Elopement with Emily and John! Emily contacted about five days before their visit: “My fiance and I are (very last minute) eloping in the Lake Tahoe area, just the two of us, after our wedding plans kept getting cancelled due to COVID. It will be sometime this upcoming Saturday so I know that is crazy last minute but I absolutely loved your style and portfolio and thought that I would at least reach out for a last minute miracle :)”

I mean, of course I said yes! Not sure who was more excited me or them, just so happy to be available for events like this. Originally, Emily and John were trying to schedule a New Zealand wedding and it just wasn’t happening. So in a way, coming to Lake Tahoe for the elopement was kind of settling. I mean, by no means is Lake Tahoe a bad choice when it comes to the views and vibe too. The timing was perfect because they chose to visit Lake Tahoe during the shoulder months which meant less crowds and tourists to get in the photos.

The Details

So now all we had to do was get an officiant and plan a location or two. We chose Eagle Rock just on the West Shore of Lake Tahoe for their ceremony – it had that New Zealand vibe going and literally gives you the eagle view of the lake. We then headed to Sand Harbor to finish up for golden hour and pop some champagne. Although, Emily would need cider because they just found out they were adding a little one to the mix!

The officiant Meredith of Ceremonies by Meredith was the perfect choice. I absolutely love Meredith and the energy that she brings to the table. As an officiant, I can tell that she truly takes the time to get to know her clients and their story. Not all weddings have to be cookie cutter and she definitely showed us that she is down for whatever. That is the point of having a wedding like this, be down for it! Climb the rock, get a little dirty and just enjoy one another!

This Lake Tahoe elopement will always hold such a special place in my heart, so glad to be a part of the story. Here is their review from theknot.com

Lisa is AMAZING. My husband and I eloped last minute in Tahoe after COVID cancelled our plans and Lisa was an absolute dream. She was up for anything and even climbed up to the top of a mountain to get the perfect shots and then raced to the park to get even more perfect shots. The pictures are absolutely STUNNING. They look straight out of a magazine. She is so much fun and such a pleasure and easy to be around. She made our day perfect and made suggestions that turned out to be exactly what we wanted. I cannot say enough good things about her as a person or her beautiful work. If you want the perfect photographer do not hesitate to hire Lisa!!

Katie & Jose’s Tannenbaum wedding was full of heart, golden summer light, and the kind of moments I love most—quiet vows, joyful dancing, and details that felt 100% them.
