A few weeks ago I booked a last minute elopement in Big Bear – and boy am I glad that I was able to get up the mountain to enjoy the day with Heather, Rick and 17 of their closest family and friends! Simple and beautiful! Can I ask for
I meat Heather and Rick through another photographer referral which just sweetened the deal! We started our convo over email Jan 12th and by Jan 19th I was en route to Big Bear Lake for the wedding. The service was simply held under the trees at the Juniper Point Picnic area near the Discovery Center. The decor was simple, consisting of floating mason jars & macrame in the trees, a few photos of the couple over the years and some lavender to toss after the first kiss. Do it yourself elements always add that personal touch. Something Heather and Rick wanted for their day. Romantic, simple and personal.
I loved the laid back vibe of the day…wedding days don’t always have to be stressful! That is the beauty of eloping! You can take your time and enjoy yourselves. If you choose to invite others, I guarantee you get a photo of every single person in attendance that is for sure! As much as I love big weddings, I would really like to have more small weddings like this in my life. Especially, in the winter months. It’s nice to slow down. I just wish we had a tad more snow for their wedding. I don’t know where it all went because there was a huge storm that week. But overall, what a great day! Thanks guys for having me and Cheryl for sending them my way.
When I sent their full gallery, Heather’s response melted my heart:
OMG OMG OMG…I’m so excited right now, my heart is pounding. I absolutely love how you captured our moment with our friends and families. You are amazing and have such a great eye for detail and artistry!!!! I am forever grateful and beyond happy that you were there to be a part of this awesome new stage in our lives. I LOVE LOVE LOVE the pictures and
