Shannon and Alex’s wedding day was held at Recreation Park Golf Course in Long Beach. We love this venue – they have a beautiful outdoor ceremony space, sky-high exposed beam cathedral style ceilings, and great surrounding landscape. It was the perfect venue for the couple’s rustic, vintage spring wedding day.
I always love hearing (and then sharing) about how the couple met. For Shannon + Alex, the story began online! Neither was having luck through the ‘traditional avenues, so they took to the interwebs in search of love. After an awkward first date of Pumpkin Spice Lattes (personal side note, we fully support #basic coffee tastes) and Jersey Mikes, the two eased into an effortless kind of love with lots of laughter.
A few months later, Alex popped the question on a gondola ride (with the help of a message in a bottle) through the Napes canals in Belmont Shore. Of course, after the happy shock wore off, she said yes! And the wedding planning began with the help of the amazing team at Different Events.
Wedding Details:
Shannon’s ring is an heirloom piece created with gold and diamonds from both sides of their family. And her dress was flipping amazing! She was over the moon about it and couldn’t wait for everyone, including Alex, to see it.
I worked with Kristy on this wedding- making it one of our collabs as
Dear Diamond Weddings . The planners at
Different Events were ridiculously amazing- they literally pen in hand checking off every. single.photo during family photo time (SO SO helpful for me). Also, these ladies are just so talented at what they do and have a genuine passion for what they do, which makes working with Angela and Silvia an all around seamless experience.
The theme of the day was rustic vintage. Most of the decor elements were handmaid by Shannon and they’re now repurposing them at their house (#winning idea!)
The vibe was laid back and FUN! The entire wedding was great. It was hard to pick a favorite moment, personally, but I have to say the speeches were hilarious! Shannon had her best man, Charlie say a speech that was hilarious and inappropriate and wonderful all around.
I loved working with Shannon & Alex- I could work with 100 couples with weddings exactly like this and die happy!
