Love Conquers Snowstorms and Throws a Heck of a Party
Renae and Mckenney’s wedding day at the Hyatt Lake Tahoe turned into a winter wonderland, quite literally. But guess what? Mother Nature had other plans and threw a snowstorm our way. Did that stop the party? Heck no! It just made things even more epic!
Snowy Surprises and Tahoe Vibes
The Lake Tahoe Hyatt provided the perfect backdrop for a Tahoe-inspired celebration. The couple’s love for the area, ski adventures, and their beloved dog, Eski, named after an Olympic Valley Avalanche dog. The stage was set for a wedding infused with personal touches and a deep connection to the beautiful Lake Tahoe. Imagine a winter wonderland inside. That’s what happened when we moved everything indoors. The ceremony space? Transformed into this cozy spot for the first look, while outside, it was snowing like crazy. A wet snowfall made outdoor activities nearly impossible, but love knows no weather constraints. The couple, along with their vendors, quickly adapted, moving everything indoors without missing a beat.
Adapting to the Unexpected
Capturing the work of @artinbloom was a delight. They infused the venue with winter elements and Lake Tahoe-inspired decor. The result? A visually stunning winter wonderland that perfectly complemented the snowy backdrop outside. The attention to detail showcased the couple’s love for each other and their surroundings.
Bridal Elegance: Snow Queen Status
Renae’s gown from @enzoani was the epitome of winter elegance, fitting seamlessly into the snowy setting. Every detail was captured, thanks to the expert hands of @love_is_inthe_hair, who ensured that every hair was in place and every makeup detail flawless. Her cape on the dress matched with those beautiful red heels were an excellent touch!
The Stranded Band and DJ Resilience
A snowstorm couldn’t stop the celebration, although it did strand the original band in the Bay Area. Enter Justin from @djklick, who stepped up and seamlessly took over the entertainment. The dance floor was lit, and those heart sunglasses? Let’s just say they made everyone look like rockstars.
A Dog’s Tale: Eski Steals the Show
Renae and Mckenney’s love for their dog, Eski, was woven into the celebration in delightful ways. The furry MVP, had his moment in the spotlight. From a cake topper in his honor to signature cocktails, the doggo was living his best life even though she couldn’t attend. And who could forget the shot ski? Taking shots just got a whole lot cooler. They also brought in “Chambers Punch” drinks, a nod to their fave restaurant on the west shore.
Capturing the Magic
As the photographer, my lens was the storyteller, documenting every moment. From the intimate first look to the lively dance party, my goal was to ensure that the magic of the day would be preserved for years to come.
Sweet Endings
No wedding is complete without a delicious cake, and @pariscustomcakes delivered. The couple and their guests enjoyed a custom creation that was not only a feast for the taste buds but also a visual masterpiece.
Looking Forward to Tomorrow
The venue was decked out with all sorts of custom signage, including a seating chart and some rad ski-themed stuff. And when Renae swapped her gown for a shorter number, it was game on for the dance floor.
The snowstorm may have messed with our plans for romantic photos, but hey, we’ll just do it all over again during the day-after session. The adventure never ends, folks.
In the end, Renae and McKenny’s wedding wasn’t just a celebration—it was a full-on snow-filled party extravaganza! Here’s to a lifetime of ski adventures, cozy nights by the fire, and endless laughter.
