I am so excited about one of my most recent weddings at the Michael’s Tuscany Room in San Pedro I just had to share their wedding photos I sent for their sneak peek! What a whirlwind of a day! First, we started at the Crown Plaza Hotel in downtown San Pedro. Both Ruben and Judy decided to get ready in the same place, which we loved because it allowed my second photographer and I to tag team them as they got ready. It’s always nice to have a second pair of eyes when it comes to photographing the details.
My little makeup ninja Emerald MRuben’s expression here is just amazing.. This is just a tiny preview of his gift…
We then headed over just a few blocks away to the St Peter Church – another plus, I love this church especially because the ceiling is white! Churches tend to be pretty dark and allow no flash, so the white ceiling is like a giant reflector bouncing the light. I have actually photographed here before when I first started. You may remember Jessica and Isaac – they were literally like my fourth wedding. Lucky for me, they were actually at this wedding too! It always so nice to see couples from the past. They have the cutest little daughter and some of their family recognized me as well! Gotta love a small town right?
After the ceremony, Tyler Varnell serenaded these two with some of their fave songs. This guy was so talented and nice!! And…there went her veil! Don’t worry, we caught it..I love this moment…
After the ceremony, we planned to head on over to the Cabrillo Marina nearby to get some fun shots by the water…however, the weather gods spoke and said – you get rained on now! No worries, we headed on over the Brouwerij West and Crafted because I remembered that it had a super fun vibe and was COVERED! Those are also two amazing venues to have your wedding at as well. I had a clear umbrella just in case which saved the day for Judy’s hair!
yay for clear umbrellas – pro tip for wedding photographers, ALWAYS have one in your car! I loved the energy of Rubens guys.. The ladies were trying to compete with the guys here.. I love his seriousness here.. and…not so serious hahaha I know, she is drop dead gorg. My black and whites were definitely on point…if you know me, I love a good black and white I am just in LOVE with the linens…
Lastly, we headed on over to Michael’s Tuscany Room – no worries, San Pedro is relatively small so everything was a quick 5-10 minute drive! I love Michael’s, the light inside is just gorgeous and the urban vibe outside completes me! I have photographed here many times too, so it is always nice to see their friendly staff and feel comfortable. It’s also like 6 blocks from my house – I can’t complain about that!
The linens came from Judy’s sister Melissa from Soiree Linens, she is based out of Denver but still managed to bring a great amount of beauty to the table – literally. Please don’t ignore this part of your wedding day. Every little detail counts!! Just in case you didn’t get the memo..Acrylic is hot right now!! AGAIN, The lighting at Michael’s is just gorgeous! The twinkle lights bring that nice romantic golden glow we love! Dancing in the street…my fave thing to photograph.
The food, toasts and speeches all commenced as the dance party began – it was time for us to leave. This is probably my fave part of the night…not because it’s time to go. But this is where I get another moment with the couple to say a special goodbye and get some night photos in! That last little burst of creativity seems to come alive! I loved it because Judy and Ruben were totally into it and they seemed to enjoy taking that moment away to be with one another. What a great pair and I feel so lucky to have been apart of their story. Not only are they super fun, which I love, but they are absolutely smitten with one another. That is what I love capturing. Thanks guys for being you!
