This Sunrise Jeep adventure engagement session in the mountains surrounding Lake Tahoe was so much fun! I met Levi and Micaela just days before we decided to head up the mountains of Tahoe at Sunrise.. This engagement session was unlike any other I have experienced. I won’t lie, I definitely wouldn’t mind if more couples let me ride in their 4 x 4 up their favorite trail any day.

The proposal

Levi and Micaela met at their local church and have been inseparable ever since. One early morning they paddled out to Fannette Island which is located in Emerald Bay. Once on the tiny island, he popped the question! The rest is history! Within a few days they planned their small wedding almost entirely. A laid back affair on a boat in North Lake Tahoe near Incline Village.

The Engagement Session

When Micaela reached out via The Knot one early morning, I got her on the phone right away so we could go over all their boat wedding plans. Once on the phone, she started telling me about who they are what their day would look like. As soon as she mentioned that they love taking the trails all over the area in their Jeep. I was like yes – you need to do an engagement session in your jeep on one of your favorite trails! Lucky for all of us, they agreed and now you get to see these unique sunrise photos!

A note about sunrise photos

You may be asking.. but why of all times Sunrise? Sunrise photos are great because you get that soft light that is super similar to the evening golden hour around sunset. I tend to schedule my sessions around these times because I love that soft golden light that makes all my clients look amazing. Now sunrise may be a challenge because, yes it is early, but just think you get the rest of the day to celebrate after. Definitely consider a Sunrise engagement session!

Lauren and Jordan’s Tahoe Blue Estate wedding was the perfect blend of fun and intimacy. With a “Mountain Mexico Chic with Tahoe Vibes” theme, colorful florals, a personalized shot ski, and even Himalayan salt shot glasses, their celebration was packed with personality. As good friends of mine, it was an honor to capture their special day before their move to South Carolina, and I truly felt like it was the perfect Tahoe send-off!
