The BEST mountain views over Reno, Nevada!
If you are considering Reno Tahoe for your wedding, I definitely urge you to take a look at this Tannenbaum Wedding!! Just off Mt. Rose Highway, the Tannenbaum Event Center has it all! With proximity to Reno and North Lake Tahoe, with places for your guests to stay nearby depending on the experience they are looking for. You also have plenty of options for your wedding photos too!
These two actually met on Bumble! Which is pretty common these days. I would definitely say that 8 out 10 couples find each other this way. This was technically the second wedding ceremony for Abby and Nate…they actually got married the year before in their living room. These lovebirds couldn’t wait to put a ring on it, so thanks Covid! Regardless, their living room ceremony didn’t take away from their larger celebration with about 75 of their closest friends and family.
Ceremony + Wedding location all in one
I love the Tannenbaum for many reasons but having it all in one place makes the day so simple! The space also comes with areas to get ready too, which makes it so much easier as well. Even if you get ready elsewhere, it is nice to keep all your stuff and freshen up before the ceremony in a nice air conditioned room. I also love the fact that Tannenbaum has a backup plan if the weather gets crazy on us. Which, if you know Nevada and Tahoe, that happens!
The First Look
One of my favorite new traditions is a first look with dad!! I am a sucker for anything that brings emotion and this moment is always a good one for that. Abby and Nate also chose to do a first look and say some private vows to one another. This is great especially if you don’t like public speaking and it also gives you a little more privacy. This wedding was also right after the time change and so a first look was a necessity to get all of the images. I know a first look is controversial regarding tradition, however, it does allow you to add more time for photos and possibly join your cocktail hour. At the end of the day, this is your decision. Do what feels right!
The Ceremony
One thing I love about Tannenbaum weddings is the view and the cool wooden arches they provide. You truly can’t beat it! Another great feature of the Tannenbaum location is they have a balcony overlooking your ceremony too. So you get both views, which is awesome to have both a ground and birds eye view. Usually I have the second photographer up there capturing this.
The Reception
Oh twinkle lights, how I adore you!! The Tannenbaum wedding reception is always great for lighting. The space is surrounded by windows and accompanied by some bistro lights that really give that magical mood. I loved the table setup here, especially because we could get photos of the couple with each table easily. We even managed to get back out for a few golden hour photos taking advantage of the mountain views as well. The twinkle lights also are fun to play with because I carry prisms to make the dance photos a little more creative. Overall, I would definitely call this wedding a success and can’t wait to return!
From the couple: “Lisa was the BEST to work with! I felt so lucky when I found her, her style is exactly what I envisioned. She did our engagement photos and our wedding photos. She prompted us for different poses, we thought she was crazy at times, but trust her–it gets the perfect shot. We got our sneak peek for our wedding a week ago and I already am in love with how the pictures turned out. We can’t wait to see the full album!”
