A while back I was asked to photograph a baby shower at the Old Ranch Country Club in the small town Seal Beach, Ca. The venue just also happens to be where this gorgeous couple, Erik & Jenn got married not too long ago. I loved this spot and honestly would have never known it were here if I hadn’t been invited- definitely a great venue for a wedding, baby or bridal shower or maybe a birthday party milestone!
Even though these two were a referral, I have actually known them for a quite a bit. Our families became bonded together almost a year ago this June when Allie and Goran tied the knot! Congrats you two btw.
Actually, I figured I would celebrate the baby girl since she was just born the other day! Just like her momma she is super tiny at just 4 lbs 9 oz and just under 17 inches long. According to her facebook post celebrating the arrival of Nicolette, Memorial Day weekend is when Erik and Jenn met, so she must have come out early to celebrate with them!
The shower was full of beautiful “tutu pink” details! I just loved it all- the flowers, pink ranch dressing, pink lemonade, the party favors and also the super cute name tags for Yia Yia, Grandma and Mommy to be. I captured it all. There was quite a bit of emotion in the room as she opened her gifts from all her friends and family, kinda teared up myself.
New life sometimes brings memories of the loved ones we have lost and throughout the day you could tell everyone was taking the time to remember their great grandmother Yia Yia – aka Erik’s grandma who left us just a little over a year ago. I had the privilege of meeting her a while back and I can definitely say she was loved and she is definitely smiling down watching her family grow.
I am also looking forward to seeing more pretty babies from these two in the future! Congrats again on the new addition and thank you for having me as your photographer!!
