Josh & Mackenzie: A Fall Hope Valley Engagement Session

During a charming engagement session in Fall Hope Valley, a man in a brown jacket and hat leans affectionately towards a smiling woman in glasses and casual clothes outdoors, both holding hands.

This Hope Valley engagement photo session was EVERYTHING!! If you’ve never been to Hope Valley in the fall, stop what you’re doing and plan a trip. Seriously. It’s the kind of place where golden aspens and crisp mountain air make you feel like you’ve stepped into a postcard. As a Hope Valley engagement photographer, I live for these golden-hour moments — and Josh and Mackenzie’s session was chef’s kiss perfection.

These two made every moment unforgettable. Whether it was Josh twirling Mackenzie in the middle of a glowing meadow or the way they kept cracking each other up (and me too, honestly), their energy was pure magic. The fall colors framed them perfectly, and that soft golden light? Absolute photographer gold. The black and white images in this set are some of my favorites I have ever taken too… My favorite shot of the day? A double-exposure that layered their silhouettes with the mountain stream and tall trees — a true reflection of their adventurous, loving spirits.

Hope Valley isn’t just a dream for engagement photos; it’s also an incredible spot for weddings. I’ve been dreaming of capturing a wedding at the Desolation Hotel in Hope Valley. It’s the perfect mix of modern vibes and natural beauty. If you’re planning your engagement session or wedding here, I’m officially your biggest fan and would love to capture your love story.

Katie & Jose’s Tannenbaum wedding was full of heart, golden summer light, and the kind of moments I love most—quiet vows, joyful dancing, and details that felt 100% them.
