This rustic garden wedding and reception at the botanical gardens under twinkly lights this past spring was one of my faves. You may remember Lizanne & Brandon from their desert engagement session earlier in 2016. Their wedding had cute little pops of turquoise + coral spread throughout. I love this color combo, it is just so cheery and bright! Rose gold was the color for this year, however, it is nice sometimes to see couples change it up and just be themselves. Their cake was from Nothing Bundt Cakes and the little cakes seriously amazing and melt in your mouth, so yummy that I actually had to break my diet and try the strawberry shortcake one! The couple chose to have “smash jar” in lieu of money dance and see who would get the cake in their face – absolutely hilarious to watch them fight over who won! In the end, they both had cake in their faces.
The reception had birdcages, burlap, guests wearing their favorite boots & rustic signs throughout. Their wedding actually reminded me a lot of my own which was pretty cool. The couple also had a makeshift photo booth for guests to take their photos and hashtag them. I love the power of the hashtag – it is so awesome because the day after your wedding you can see all the fun your guests had as well as sneak peeks from your amazing photographer, yeah me, duh! The event was catered by Lisa’s Bon Apetit and let me tell you their barbecue was super tasty.
What a fun wedding couple too! I love when you can truly see their happiness and excitement for the future to come. Recently they made a big move to Texas and her sister just joined them as well..I am excited to see what’s next for them in life.
