Some weddings feel straight out of a dream, and Mackenzie and Josh’s Valhalla Lake Tahoe wedding was exactly that—filled with love, personal touches, stunning florals, and the best kind of people. From their shared love of Vanderpump Rules, cats, the outdoors, music, and laughter, every moment felt like a perfect reflection of their journey together.

A Love Story Rooted in Tahoe
Mackenzie and Josh have been together for years, even spending part of their relationship long-distance when she was in Monterey and he was in Lake Tahoe. Now, they call South Lake Tahoe home, where Josh plays Bluegrass/Folk/Americana music at local restaurants and bars. Mackenzie, an avid knitter, would happily spend all day with her yarn if she weren’t working in the nonprofit world.
From the moment Mackenzie reached out to me, I knew we’d be instant besties. Her first message? “I LOVE your style, and when I clicked on your website, I knew immediately when I saw Valhalla in the background!” Then she casually mentioned Vanderpump Rules, cats, and Tahoe, and I was sold. I even showed them my and Igor’s custom Vans with our cats on them, so imagine my excitement when Josh wore his own custom Vans featuring their cat on the wedding day!
Before their wedding day, we had the chance to capture their engagement session in Hope Valley, a stunning location that perfectly showcased their love for the outdoors. You can see more from their Hope Valley engagement session here!

A Wedding Filled With Thoughtful & Vibrant Details
Their wedding was full of the most heartfelt and personal touches. Mackenzie knitted her own gorgeous shawl (seriously, it was stunning!) and gifted matching shawls to both her mother and mother-in-law. Their ceremony featured a floating floral arch, an absolute showstopper, with pinks, oranges, and yellows bringing a fresh and colorful spring vibe to the day.
They opted for a small wedding party, which meant we had time for some Bravo/Vanderpump-style photos during cocktail hour (and yes, they nailed it). Since they did a first look and completed all family photos beforehand, they had time to enjoy every moment of cocktail hour and sneak away for some epic sunset portraits by the lake—and let me tell you, Lake Tahoe did not disappoint.
