Snowy Adventures & Pawsome Love
Hold onto your ski goggles because this isn’t your average Lake Tahoe day after session! Join me as we dive into Renae and Mckenney’s wild post-wedding tale, where love, laughter, and a furry friend named Eski take center stage. From snowy slopes to picture-perfect moments, this adventure had it all! A day after session, especially in the winter, can also be utilized so you can enjoy more time with friends and family on the wedding day. Especially if you are traveling to Lake Tahoe for your wedding, a day after session can be a great way to enjoy the magic of Lake Tahoe!
The Winter Wedding Twist:
Winter weddings are magical, but when Mother Nature decides to sprinkle in some snowstorm drama, things get interesting. Renae and Mckenney’s wedding day was no exception, but they weren’t about to let a little sideways snow dampen their spirits. Cue the “day after session” concept – a brilliant solution to capture their love amidst the winter wonderland. If you are curious to read more about their snowy wedding you can find part one here!
Renae Wrote on The Knot:
“Lisa is fantastic!! Not only is her style amazing at capturing the natural beauty and light in her images, but she makes you feel so comfortable! She had many fun poses and ideas for our photos. We happen to have had a large snow storm on our wedding day and Lisa still braved the weather with us to get our snowy wonderland photos. Then she helped us by doing an additional “Day After” photo shoot a month later in the snow when we had time to explore the places that meant the most to us. In the West Shore of Lake Tahoe she took photos of us with our dog, we went to Homewood ski resort and took skiing photos, and she hiked up eagle rock with us for the most insanely magical photos in the winter. She is all around so incredible! I love our photos and will cherish them forever. Lisa is the best!”
Dream Shots and Checklists:
Fast forward to Renae, Mckenney, and their besties hitting the slopes at Homewood Resort on the west shore of Lake Tahoe – in wedding attire, no less! Skiing? Check! Climbing Eagle Rock? Double check! And let’s not forget those stunning snowy peaks and bluebird skies – check, check, and check! But wait, there’s more fun to come.
Furry Friends and Candid Captures:
Enter Eski, the four-legged member of the squad, adding an extra dose of adorable to the photoshoot. With wagging tails and snowy noses, Eski joined in on the fun, making every shot even more heartwarming. Eski is named after an Olympic Valley avalanche dog – so fitting!! Oh, and did I mention that Renae and Mckenney got to play photographer too? With my camera in hand, they snapped sweet portraits of each other, capturing their love from behind the lens.
A Sled Ride to Remember:
As we made our way down the mountain, Mckenney caught the eye of some adventurous kids who graciously lent him their sled. And just like that, he was sledding down the mountain in his wedding clothes, laughter echoing through the snowy landscape. It was a moment of pure joy, perfectly encapsulating the spirit of their post-wedding adventure.
In a Nutshell:
Renae, Mckenney, Eski, and a whole lot of love – that’s what this post-wedding escapade was all about. From skiing to sledding, climbing to candid captures, every moment was a testament to their adventurous spirits and unwavering love. So here’s to embracing the unexpected, making memories to last a lifetime, and proving that love truly knows no bounds – especially when there’s snow involved! If you’re thinking you may want to schedule a Lake Tahoe Day After Session, let this be the perfect example of why!
