Sand Harbor Proposal Photography: A Snowy Lake Tahoe Love Story

When you picture the perfect Sand Harbor proposal photography, you might imagine clear blue skies, glittering snow, and serene mountain views. That was the original plan for Jahmai and Omari’s dreamy engagement, but a snowstorm turned their moment into something even more magical.

From Maryland to California—then to Tahoe
Jahmai and Omari’s love story began back east in Maryland, but they now call Redondo Beach home—coincidentally, my old stomping grounds! Omari found me through Borges Sleigh and Carriage Rides, a local gem offering unforgettable sleigh ride experiences. Their recommendation led to an incredible partnership, and I couldn’t wait to capture this special day.

The plan? A romantic sleigh ride proposal at Sand Harbor, one of Lake Tahoe’s most iconic and picturesque locations. Initially scheduled for a sunny Sunday, we had to pivot when Jahmai wasn’t feeling well. Monday brought a surprise snowstorm, and while it wasn’t what we expected, it was absolutely unforgettable.

Sand Harbor: A Dreamy Proposal Backdrop

Sand Harbor is a crown jewel of Lake Tahoe, famous for its turquoise waters, sandy beaches, and striking boulders. Even in winter, its beauty shines. As the snow fell and the storm rolled in, the scenery transformed into a winter wonderland—a snow globe brought to life.

Weathering the Storm—Together

Though Sunday was a picture-perfect bluebird day, Monday’s storm brought swirling snow and dramatic skies. At first, I was a bit disappointed by the weather shift, but Jahmai and Omari’s excitement and love quickly turned the day into something extraordinary.

Bundled up and ready for adventure, the couple braved the elements with smiles and joy. The falling snow created a romantic, intimate atmosphere as Omari dropped to one knee, asking Jahmai to spend forever with him. Spoiler alert: she said YES!

The Sleigh Ride Magic

Adding to the charm of this snowy proposal was the sleigh ride with Borges Sleigh and Carriage Rides. Their cozy sleigh provided the perfect setting for Omari’s big moment, complete with breathtaking Lake Tahoe views.
